Staff-Sergeant Victor Miller

6093456 Staff-Sergeant Victor David Miller, taken circa 1943. Miller first served with The Queen's Royal Regiment from the 15th January 1940 to the 26th March 1942, before transferring to the Glider Pilot Regiment, and with No.24 Flight, "G" Squadron, took part in the Sicily, Arnhem, and Rhine Crossing landings. On the 17th September 1944, Miller and his co-pilot, Sergeant Tom Hollingsworth, flew to Arnhem in a Horsa glider, chalk number 440, carrying seven men, a Jeep and trailer. After the war, Miller returned to the Queen's Royal Regiment on the 9th February 1946 and remained with them until the 28th June of that year.
