This section of the website is dedicated to the telling of the stories of those who fought in the 6th Airborne Division's area in Normandy. I would like to fill this section with as many stories as possible, first-hand accounts by the persons concerned are preferable, though second-hand accounts are equally welcome. Stories may concern men of the 6th Airborne Division, the Glider Pilot Regiment, 38 and 46 Groups of the RAF, the 1st and 4th Special Service Brigades, the 1st Belgian and Princess Irene Brigades, the 5th Battalion The Black Watch, the 13th/18th Royal Hussars, the 2nd Battalion The Royal Warwickshire Regiment, the 150th and 191st Field Regiments, 65th Medium Regiment and the 60th and 107th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiments, as well as the German forces who opposed them and the French civilians who lived in or around the surrounding area. Stories will also be accepted from other formations, such as the Royal Navy, RAF or other Army units, if the subject matter is at all connected to the 6th Airborne Division or any of the units mentioned above.
The stories may be of any length, anything from a description of a single incident to a full description of the three month campaign. Background details and photographs of the people concerned are also welcome. Also, if you know of any further details about a person mentioned here, or know any information to be incorrect, please write to me and let me know. pegasusarchive@googlemail.com
